据官方可靠消息，阜城县境内地下含有丰富的煤气层，煤气储量达270多亿立方，相当于4个开滦煤矿、5个峰峰煤矿，可谓国家的资源宝库，该煤气田埋藏较深，何时开采，国家正在研讨。
随着该煤气田的开采，阜城没有资源优势的历史而被改写，人民富裕、经济腾飞、社会发展的美好前景已展现在阜城人民面前。
